South Los Angeles, CA (August 1, 2020) – According to the California Highway Patrol, one person was killed in a two-vehicle accident that took place in South Los Angeles. The fatal crash was reported early on Saturday morning, August 1st, on the off-ramp to Western Avenue from the Santa Monica (10) Freeway.
CHP officials said that the vehicles involved collided while traveling westbound along the freeway as they approached the off-ramp at approximately 6:51 a.m. A SigAlert was issued a short time later and the ramp was closed down as emergency crews arrived at the scene.
One person was pronounced deceased at the scene and the others involved were assisted for their injuries. No details have been reported concerning the other victims.
At this time, authorities with the California Highway Patrol are investigating the events that led to this incident. No further information was made available.
