Los Angeles, CA (July 23, 2020) – Two officers with the Los Angeles Police Department were injured in a collision that took place on Wednesday evening, July 22nd. It occurred at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Butler Avenue at around 9:20 p.m.
According to officials with the California Highway Patrol, two LAPD officers entered the intersection when they collided with another vehicle. The second car is believed to have run a red light, triggering the collision.
Emergency medical crews were dispatched to the scene where they went to work assisting the victims involved in the crash. Paramedics transported two injured officers to a nearby hospital. Their injuries have been classified as non-life-threatening but there was no word on their current conditions.
