Palmdale, CA (July 4, 2020) – Authorities with the California Highway Patrol have released the identities of those involved in a double fatal collision with multiple vehicles. The crash happened on Thursday evening, July 2nd, in Palmdale.
According to police, a 2014 Hyundai was heading east on Palmdale Boulevard when it collided head-on with a 2020 Toyota near 90th Street at around 6:20 p.m. Medical responders arrived at the scene where both the driver of the Toyota, now identified as 42-year-old Tori Ann Haywood, of Smithville and the driver of the 2014 Hyundai, only identified as a 20-year-old man from Palmdale was pronounced deceased.
Four passengers in the Toyota were transported to Antelope Valley Hospital with at least moderate injuries. Those four victims have been identified as Tyjhai Ladet, 18, Tre Lamar Ladet, 18, Sierra Ladet, 18, and Tyzjon Ladet, 18. One passenger in the 2014 Hyundai, identified as 20-year-old M.N. Ankenbrandt, of Lancaster, was also taken to Antelope Valley Hospital with severe injuries.
A third vehicle described as a 2021 Hyundai was behind the Toyota at the time of the crash and was unable to avoid the wreck. The driver of that vehicle, identified as 21-year-old Tia Perkins, was uninjured.
No further details have been reported at this time. The official cause of this incident remains under investigation.
