Anaheim, CA (November 19, 2020) – A chain-reaction collision that hospitalized three people, one of whom was a police officer, took place in the city of Anaheim on the night of Monday, November 16th.
An officer from the Anaheim Police Department reported to the scene of a two-vehicle rear-end collision on Brookhurst Street, between Lincoln Avenue and Catalina Avenue. After the responding officer stepped out of his vehicle to investigate the accident, which involved a BMW crashing into the back of an Acura, a Honda crashed into the back of the BMW, causing it to strike the officer.
The driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries and was transported via ambulance to a nearby trauma center, along with the police officer and one other injured victim. The injuries of all three victims were classified as non-life-threatening.
This accident is under investigation by local law enforcement. At this time, neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be a factor.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
