Los Angeles, CA (October 29, 2020) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a car on Long Beach Freeway, also known as Interstate 710, on Saturday, October 24th.
According to initial reports, police began receiving reports of a man lying in the freeway near the intersection for Cesar Chavez Avenue at about 2:10 a.m. Upon their arrival, they found Quincy Edward Jackson, 46, lying on the freeway.
Police statements indicate that a passing car did not see Jackson and ran him over. Attending emergency medical personnel pronounced Jackson dead at the scene.
At this time, it is unclear whether or not the involved driver remained at the scene of the accident.
The circumstances leading up to the fatal collision are unclear, and further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
