Motor Vehicle Accidents in California
More than 170,000 people are injured in collisions across the entire state of California each year. In many cases, victims are left with life-altering injuries that require extensive medical treatment and hospitalization. Although we would like to think that these accidents do not happen in our area, this is far from the truth. In fact, statistics show that over 45,000 traffic-related incidents occur annually within the Los Angeles area – accounting for over 25% of the state-wide total.
In Los Angeles, victims who are harmed in collisions are often forced to undergo immediate surgery for their injuries and spend several days or even weeks in the hospital. After being released, victims often require several months of therapy and are forced out of work throughout their recovery. Thousands of people never truly recover from their injuries. Instead, they are left to endure pain and suffering while dealing with permanent disabilities. Regardless of how careful we are when entering roads across our state, we cannot control how others are going to act. Regrettably, over 75% of collisions are caused by negligent, reckless, and distracted drivers. When victims are harmed in auto accidents as a result of another driver's actions, it is crucial that they reach out to a car accident attorney in California as soon as possible. Victims may be entitled to compensation to help alleviate the financial burdens they face moving forward.
