California Auto Accidents

Auto accidents in California, unfortunately, occur hundreds of times per day. Recent statistics concerning the annual auto accident rates in California state that approximately 650 car accidents per day occur in the Golden State. Approximately 9 people per day are killed in California auto accidents or about 3,200 per year. This is approximately 10% of the national accident rate, which sits at around 32,000 people who lose their lives annually in auto accidents in the United States.

Sadly, almost all of the traffic accidents that take place in the United States are the result of negligent driver errors. Statistics state that approximately 94% of all auto accidents that take place in the United States are the result of driver negligence. Some examples of driver negligence include but are not limited to; Fatigue, intoxication, and distraction. Driver distraction is the number one leading cause of auto accidents in the nation, probably due to the advent of hand-held technological devices like smartphones and tablets. It is very important to remember to keep your eyes on the road at all times while driving and to stay alert and aware. This way, you could save not only your own life but the lives of many others whom you may encounter on the roadway.
