Los Angeles, CA (January 07, 2021) – One person was killed on Monday, January 4th after a tractor-trailer flipped over on Interstate 5 just north of Los Angeles.
The accident occurred at about 12:35 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 in the area of Whitaker Summit, in between Pyramid Lake and Castaic when a Wal-Mart tractor-trailer, fully loaded, went off the righthand side of the interstate and fell 50 feet down an embankment.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim sustained injuries during the accident and was transported via ambulance to a local hospital.
Neither the identity of the fatal victim nor the identity of the injured party has been released.
Two northbound lanes were shut down well into the evening as police conducted an investigation.
